Sometimes your workload can seem insurmountable, being able to organize your workload will not only enable you to get your work done at work but it will reduce your stress and open doors for you by making you a better employee.

Account For Your Time

One idea to manage your workload is to properly manage your time. This means accounting for your time while you are at work. Having some sort of planner whether it be on your phone, computer or in a book is vital to keeping yourself organized and efficient. Take some time at the start of your day to stop and look at what you need to accomplish. Then write it down and allocate how much time it will take you to do it. Do this with all the tasks you have and schedule out your day and even your week. This way you can tackle a project one step at a time.

Keep a Clean Space

Having a clean work space will help you to be more productive in several ways. First it will reduce stress by giving you space to work and by knowing where everything is. Take some time at the beginning of the week to clean your work space. Having a clean organized work space will help you have a relaxed mind and will help you work more efficiently.

Take Notes

It is vital that you take notes. If you are in a meeting don’t just go into it hoping you will remember everything because you wont. If you are in the middle of doing a project and cant get to it right then write it down so when you come back to it later you have it written down exactly as you needed. You wil be surprised to see how much you forgot and will be grateful you wrote it down. Buy your self a nice one like a hand-sewn journal from rustico leather. Your employer will see you in meetings and no you are taking your time and meetings seriously.

Take a Break

As important as it is to work hard and efficiently it is also important to take a break from what you are doing. Not taking adequate breaks will lead to a burnout. You need to give your mind a chance to take a break and relax. You will be amazed to see how refreshed and refocused you feel after just a short break. It is especially important to take adequate breaks when you are working in front of a computer.

Being organized will make you a more productive person not only at work but in all aspects of your life. Figure out what works for you in your life and stick to it. The key is to stay consistant in everything you do. Before you know it these tips will become a way of life
